A precast large format retail centre on Goonoo Goonoo Road, Tamworth - over 6,800 square metres of retail space built to support national tenants.
The Longyard Homemaker Centre sits on Goonoo Goonoo Road, a main arterial road into Tamworth. It brings together over 6,800 square metres of large format retail space, with a national tenant mix that includes Choices Flooring, Lounges Plus and Eureka Furniture.
The precinct is designed for easy customer access, clear circulation and practical servicing, with front-facing parking for shoppers and rear loading zones so day-to-day operations run smoothly. The aim was a large format retail centre that could attract national tenants and perform well over the long term.
Segboer Constructions delivered the centre in precast construction, completing it in the late 1990s. The layout keeps customers and servicing apart, with parking at the front and loading zones at the rear.
A large format retail centre needs big, open tenancies and a layout that works for shoppers and delivery trucks alike, so access, circulation and servicing were planned in from the start. Precast construction gave the buildings a strong, practical shell for that kind of use.
The result is a large format retail centre on one of Tamworth's main roads into town, built to support national tenants and long-term retail performance. Its mix of big tenancies, easy parking and practical loading access gives Tamworth shoppers one place to browse for flooring, lounges and furniture.
Past clients include Tamworth Regional Council, national retailers such as Supercheap Auto and Brown and Hurley, transport operators including Careys Freight Line and Kenworth Truck Service and Sales, and long-standing rural and commercial clients across the region.
