A 5,000-seat entertainment and conference venue for Tamworth Regional Council, built with 4,800 square metres of flexible, clear span floor space to host everything from touring concerts to trade shows.
Tamworth Regional Council needed a large-scale venue for the region - one with the flexibility to run a major touring concert one week and a trade show or conference the next. The brief called for a main auditorium seating 5,000, a flexible stage configuration, and enough clear span floor space to handle a genuinely wide range of event types.
Segboer Constructions delivered the project as a new build on Greg Norman Drive, Hillvue, commencing construction in 1998 and opening the venue in January 1999. The finished facility spans 6,670 square metres in total, including 4,800 square metres of clear span floor space, delivered to a budget of $6.1 million.
More than two decades on, TRECC continues to serve as a hub for the region - regularly hosting major performing artists visiting the New England area alongside trade shows, exhibitions and conferences, and contributing to the social and economic development of Tamworth and the North West.
Past clients include Tamworth Regional Council, national retailers such as Supercheap Auto and Brown and Hurley, transport operators including Careys Freight Line and Kenworth Truck Service and Sales, and long-standing rural and commercial clients across the region.
