A full refurbishment and extension for the Carey Group, turning a recently acquired Tamworth property into Plumes by CH Boutique - 11 boutique suites delivered across 800 square metres.
The Carey Group had recently bought the existing Plumes Boutique Bed & Breakfast at 25 The Ringers Road, Tamworth, with plans to refurbish it from the ground up and relaunch it as Plumes by CH Boutique. The brief covered a full refurbishment and extension of the existing building to 800 square metres of renovated and extended accommodation space - enough to deliver 11 boutique suites, a lounge bar, swim spa and outdoor entertaining area overlooking the golf course.
This is the latest in a working relationship between Segboer Constructions and the Carey Group spanning more than 30 years, which has also included new warehouses, land developments, repairs and reroofing across Tamworth - including, more recently, the depot Segboer built for the Group's Careys Freight Line business.
Segboer Constructions delivered the refurbishment and extension, commencing works in July 2025 and reaching occupation in April 2026 - about nine months. The project represented an investment of around $5.83 million, and delivered 10 King suites and one Queen suite, several with golf course or city views, alongside guest facilities including a lounge bar, swim spa and fire pit terrace, ready for the property's relaunch as Plumes by CH Boutique.
The expansion saw the revitalisation of the landscape and outdoor amenities together with ample parking and EV charges. With clever planning this development increased its accommodation offering from 6 suites to 10 with a variety of accessible rooms, family and two bedroom suites.
The finished venue exceeded expectations, giving the Carey Group a boutique accommodation offering well suited to its golf course setting. Since reopening as Plumes by CH Boutique, the property has become a desirable destination for visitors to the region, adding to Tamworth's appeal as a place to stay rather than just pass through.
Segboer Constructions has completed many projects for the Carey Group over the last 30 years.
